Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Commitment

All injuries, occupational illnesses, and environmental harm can be prevented.
The safety and health of people and environmental responsibility has first
priority and must take precedence over the attainment of all other business
objectives.
To achieve this goal:
Acheson will:
.Ensure that processes are in place and they are used to continuously improve
SHE performance and awareness.
.Provide a safe working environment and maintain equipment and premises in a
safe condition.
.Follow the letter and spirit of SHE legislation.
.Ensure all employees receive safety, health, ergonomic and environment
education.
.Thoroughly investigate all SHE incidents and take appropriate action as
required.
Supervisors (from the President down) will be accountable for:
.The safety and well being of their staff.
.Intervening when they encounter any unsafe act or incorrect environmental
action performed by employees, on-site contractors and visitors.
.Ensuring:
°Their staff is educated in SHE.
°Their staff understand and obey all SHE rules and use correct SHE work
practices.
°There is a process in which they continuously reinforce SHE awareness and
performance improvement.
All employees are responsible for:
.Understanding how to perform their work safely and in an environmentally
responsible manner.
.Seeking SHE guidance before performing unfamiliar tasks.
.Understanding and obeying SHE rules and procedures.
.Helping colleagues to work safely and be environmentally responsible.
.Immediately reporting all hazards, injuries, and environmental concerns.
.Providing input on ways to improve SHE.
.Maintaining SHE housekeeping practices in their work areas.
At Acheson working safely and in an environmentally responsible manner is a
condition of employment.
